Valentine’s Day, 2017. A brother, working for People’s Taxi, was taking his sister to work at 3:30AM on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
A speeding SUV slammed in to the taxi cab. The pair were extricated and transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where they were unfortunately pronounced dead.
The 24 year old woman who hit them attempted to run from the scene, but was apprehended.
Speeding vehicles a problem in Maywood
Police even had a machine in place which tells drivers their speed, in an attempt to remind them to slow down.
Still, the driver neglected this and sped through the streets anyways.
